Anteprima Amarone 2022: see you in June
It’s not time - yet - to show off the new vintage of Amarone della Valpolicella ready to be sold. Thus Anteprima Amarone (Amarone Preview), the traditional wine event reserved for the iconic red wine from dried grapes, has been postponed to June.
Initially, it had been scheduled in Verona on February 4th and 5th. The rescheduling has been decided by the Consortium for the safeguarding of Valpolicella wines, to guarantee an adequate development of the event with the usual presence of experts and stakeholders at the international level.
The new dates of the event in Verona are going to be communicated soon, whereas the program originally planned is confirmed. Special events dedicated to the king of Valpolicella are also going to be announced soon. A
live event, with people who can meet the producers and taste the wines, is impossible to get right now. However, it is also something that “we owe to our producers, and a denomination that in 2021 recorded an important season on the sales front - claimed president of Consortium Christian Marchesini - For this reason, in February we are presenting a market focus about the performance of Amarone, Ripasso and Valpolicella in Italy and worldwide, in collaboration with Nomisma Wine-Monitor”. This year Amarone della Valpolicella 2017 should have been presented: last year Amarone Preview was digital. The latest vintage showed off live was in 2020.
